Painting found me when the world stood still.
For more than 25 years, my life was filled with fostering over 40 children and working as a hairdresser. Both brought plenty of love, laughter, chaos and, of course, an endless amount of laundry and cups of tea. Then 2020 arrived and everything became quiet. I picked up a brush, made a glorious mess on the kitchen table and discovered how much I loved painting. One painting quickly became many, and I have been happily experimenting with oils, acrylics, watercolour, ink and pastels ever since. When I’m not covered in paint, I’m Chair of the CamValleyArts Trail, supporting local artists and encouraging people to share their creativity. Every painting is an invitation to pause, smile at the imperfections and enjoy something made entirely by hand. |
