Helen Rushton
I've always had a passion for textiles and learnt to spin and weave 25 years ago. working with wool and silk, it was a natural progression to explore the world of feltmaking. Living in an old cottage with a large garden, surrounded by beautiful countryside, is where my inspiration comes from. I love the contrasting colours and textures of the plants and trees and I capture these by combining different dyes with mainly wool, silk and cashmere, weaving individual scarves, wraps and accessories for the home and hand felting small personal accessories, as well as felt pictures. I sell my work at galleries and Art Trails in the south west. Individual commissions always considered.
