Sharon Curtis White
I am a painter, illustrator and printmaker living and working in Somerset.
Following completion of my degree in Graphic Design, my career has been varied and interesting, initially concentrating on illustration, working freelance producing greeting cards, wedding stationery, book covers and calendars.
Most recently I have concentrated on painting for exhibitions and private commissions. Enjoying experimenting with different media and ideas. I use mixed media, largely acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal and print.
My work mostly depicts the beautiful areas around my home, which I try to interpret with strong earthy colour, bright patches of luminosity and simple organic lines. Taking inspiration from nature, I like to paint en plein air and from photographs concentrating on the stunning landscape of the West Country.
