Ceramics

I began working with clay just before retirement. Evening classes and then several day courses gave me a thoroughly pleasurable grounding in all aspects of ceramics. I now concentrate on hand-building techniques and also slip-casting for which I use moulds I have made from my original clay models. Working mainly with high-fired stoneware clays but also with earthenware, I produce a unique and diverse range of ceramics including clocks, stylised creature figures, decorative vases, bowls etc. My work is influenced by Art Deco style and form and the natural world.
