We are pleased to be able to let you know about this upcoming workshop event at the Conygre Hall, Timsbury, near Bath, BA2 0JQ, hosted by 4 of our members; Andrew Eddleston, Karen George, Sophie Piddock & Gina Belford.

The workshops will be taking place at the same time in the main hall at Conygre Hall, Timsbury BA2 0JQ. Tea, coffee & cake etc will be provided! Although Covid guidelines have been relaxed the artists would be grateful if you would consider wearing masks at the workshop particularly when walking around away from your individual work space or are in close proximity to other attendees. If you are able to take a lateral flow test before the session to ensure you do not have Covid then that would be appreciated. |
Intuitive abstract paintingwith Gina Belford Art
10am - 1pm £65 8 spaces This workshop will give you practical sessions on how to create intuitive abstract paintings in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We will focus on creating texture and mark making whilst finding out which colours you are drawn to. You will use brushes and palette knives with acrylic paint, and you will try using paint directly from the tube as well as paint mixed with water. You will have 4/6 small paintings on paper and a small canvas to take home with you. These techniques are the ones I use to create my own paintings and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. I’ll give you the support you need to create something you’ll be proud to take home and we’ll make time for a refreshment break and natter too. Suitable for all, no experience needed. Lino cutting and printingwith Andrew Eddleston.
£60 10 spaces This is a six hour workshop running between 10am - 5pm with a break for lunch. There will be an introduction on how I make my lino prints, techniques and inspirations. Before lunch you will finalise your design, transfer it to the lino and start to cut. After lunch you will finish cutting, take a proof print and experiment with different colours and papers. You will be able to take home your prints. Please note they will be tacky and may be best carried on a tray. Materials are included. Please bring several designs suitable for a 10cm x 10cm lino. An apron/clothes you don't mind getting dirty Lunch and a drink |
Botanical sketchbookswith Karen George Art
10am - 1pm £65 8 spaces A wonderful opportunity to take time out and tap into your creativity with artist Karen George. Combine print, collage and pen work using nature as inspiration and collate your creative journey into a sketchbook - an individual record of your day and all you've learnt! All materials are included. Bring an apron. Suitable for all abilities - all you need is the curiosity to experiment |
Introduction to silver jewellerywith Sophie Piddock, Disco and Fish designs
10am - 1pm £60 8 spaces Sophie will guide you to create your own unique piece of jewellery; learn how to cut, file, sand and polish silver to create a pendant necklace and pair of drop earrings from a 3x3cm piece of sheet silver. There will be demonstrations and examples of jewellery in different styles to look at. You will have access to your own bench peg and saw and other shared tools. You will learn different effects using a variety of hammers and steel blocks. You will get the chance to practice on a piece of copper before you tackle your finished piece. All materials on the workshop are provided including: Silver, necklace, earring findings and polishing cloth. What will I go home with? You will go home with completed pieces of jewellery. No previous skills are required! Please bring an apron to protect clothing and catch falling silver. |
