Taster Workshops & Demos

As a group we pride ourselves in providing a programme of free taster workshops and demos at our events. The aim is to share our skills within our community and allow visitors the chance to try something new with guidance of our member artists.  The workshop and demo programme accommodates something for the complete beginner and for more experienced artists.

These sessions are extremely popular and allow visitors to understand the processes involved in creating the artwork they see at events. Advance booking is essential.  If you would like us to let you know when sessions are next available then let us know via our contact page and we'll send you details as and when opportunities arise.

Workshop Day

Each Spring we hold a workshop day. The aim of the day is threefold; firstly we aim to provide a programme of more in depth workshops across a range of disciplines, it allows us to support our member artists' practice and it's a chance for us to raise funds towards funding our free taster sessions at events.

The sessions are run  by our member artists and are generally either half or full day in length (with a break for lunch). Typical workshops we've held to date include: calligraphy, lino cutting & printing, Chinese painting, ceramics, needle felting, silver jewellery, batik, mixed media, glass, acrylic painting and willow weaving. The sessions are aimed at 14 years +.

Workshop day has proved itself to be a wonderful opportunity for individuals to take time out and learn in a friendly, encouraging and supportive environment with participants returning year after year.  As such the sessions book our quickly so if you would like us to let you know when sessions are next available then let us know via our contact page.

Bespoke Workshops

Do you want to explore the arts further? Our group is made up of a number of artists that run workshops as part of their practice; so if you know what you'd like to have a go at let us know and we'll put you in touch with artist members that can help.

We also are able to put together a team of artists for bespoke projects; we are happy to discuss options and are able to offer you tailor made workshops that meet your needs. Whether you're looking to create a communal piece of art, encourage community engagement through art or aren't sure what you want yet do get in touch for further information.
