Artist statement
I attended Bristol School of Art, Queens Road, Bristol, in 2008 on a two year HND ceramics course as a mature student. The course covered hand building, slip casting and thrown pottery. I specialised in slip cast porcelain making vases using a stitched sponge mould that takes the pattern of the sponges. I also throw white earthenware mugs and jugs decorated with bees, cats dogs, robins painted in underglaze then a clear glaze over the top. I have been selling bee motif pottery at the Royal Bath and West Show and Mid Somerset Show in their Bee and Honey tents for six years. I also throw stoneware mugs, jugs and bowls glazed in Celadon over a shiny white glaze. I make my ceramics in my studio in my garden. You can come to view my work in the studio at 77, Upper Bloomfield Road, Bath, BA2 2SA, during the Cam Valley Arts Trail from 31 October - 8th November 2020. 11am - 4pm.
