Fi Harris
Wet-felting, Printing, Etching and Paper marbling
Fi, known as FELTbyFI, experiments in her North Somerset studio. She is always keen to play with techniques, textures, colour and composition. Wet felting is an ancient craft that involves forming a fabric using only pure wool fibres, water and friction. Screen printing is the process of pushing ink through a partially blocked mesh to produce a print. Hand cut paper stencils or exposed photo emulsion images are used. Marbling produces unique patterns. Inks are suspended on a marbling bath solution and collected onto treated paper. The papers can be used for book binding or any other paper craft.
