I began making pottery just before retirement. Evening classes to start and then various day courses, gave me a thoroughly pleasurable grounding in all aspects of ceramics.
I now concentrate on hand-built pieces and also slip-casting using moulds I make myself from my original clay models.
Working mainly with high-fired stoneware clays, but occasionally also earthenware including raku-fired pieces, I produce a unique and diverse range of ceramics including clocks, stylised creature figures, vases etc.   My work is largely influenced by Art Deco style and form and the natural world.
