Jo Eddleston
I enjoy making small stained glass panels, often based upon sketches from my garden in Timsbury. My work uses traditional leaded stained glass skills. To paint the glass I use a mineral base paint that I fire to permanently stain the glass. I use both brush strokes and scratching into flat washes of paint to produce the illustrative detail. Each panel is unique and usually takes over a month from paper design to a fully leaded polished piece. There are multiple processes in between. When the sun shines through and interacting with the transparency, it’s worth the wait. I also make smaller items and fused glass pieces.
