Linda O'Gorman

​Drawing and sketching have been lifelong interests for me, and I have studied Art and Design to degree level at College. Also doing a post grad teaching course but did not continue with this, and instead did drawing workshops, and worked as a tutor for a distance learning college., as well as learning the useful art of framing artwork.

Artists like Ken Howard, Francis Howlett, John Piper, John Singer Sargent, among many others, have been my inspirations over the years; all of them masters of drawing and using colour, and in depicting light.

I like to experiment with drawing processes like monoprinting and ink wash off, and finding out the qualities of media to create line and texture. Using pastel, ink, gouache, oil or acrylic in my efforts to capture the environment around me or seen on visits to France etc. It is a task with endless possibilities and continuous striving!
