Mary MarchFused glass dishes and copper foiled objects
My work literally covers all the colours of the rainbow. The fun is in the selection of glass patterns to match an object's shape and use. Glass is very unforgiving; you cannot just grind it into shape if your cutter slips. Every cut counts and it is naturally very fragile. Having cut the glass to shape comes the technical use of a kiln with its infinite options of temperature and time. This kiln process fuses the pieces of glass together and then it is slumped into a mould to give it shape. [email protected] Arts Trail 2019 Venue - details to follow |
