Sally Gardiner

Inspired by a life long affair with the countryside and living on a farm in rural Somerset, Sally is offered ample opportunity to engage and create the characteristics of both wild and domestic animals she encounters. Hares, a once common feature of the fields and downs, are a particular favourite of hers. Her two pet Belgian Hares,  Harry and Simon pose willingly for her as she sculpts directly from life.

All Sally's pieces are individually handmade  using stoneware clay. They are fired up to 3 times and she uses slips, glazes  and oxides before a final firing of 1260 degrees.
Sally gained a BA (hons) in Three Dimensional Design : Ceramics at Bath Spa University.
